5 Easy Ways To Make Money Online Selling A Niche Product

By Izrul Fizal

Many people are making lots and lots of money online just by selling a niche product. Not only that, some don’t even have a slight clue or idea about the niche but still make money online easily. You see, when you are planning to concentrate selling a niche product, it is not necessarily you need to know your product although it will be an advantage if you do.

But still they are who still have not making any money online at all because they have done it the wrong way from the beginning. They simply jump into the bandwagon because they thought making money online is easy. The truth is, it is easy if you start with a proper way.

So how to make money online with a niche product? Here are 5 excellent and easy ways to do it:

1. Use Overture’s Inventory tool to determine how many people are actually searching for keywords in your niche in each given month. If you multiply that number by 8, you will get the rough amount of Google traffic for that same keyword. If you don't already have an established site in that niche, you will definitely want to avoid it if the search numbers are too low. Let me stress out that keywords will be your major factor in making money online business. Choose the wrong one, and you are destined to fail fast.

2. Create a niche product that automates a labor-intensive task. Making money online is all about automation. For instance, submitting articles to directories is a labor-intensive task. This is why many article submitters have sold extremely well. Creating software is almost the best way go to go about this task, but information products will sometimes work, too. If you cannot create one, find anybody who offers an affiliate program for this sort of product.

3. This method is for those who already have a list. Use your list to create a niche product for you. For instance, you could create a contest that offers $100 to the person who can write the most interesting story or idea about something related to your niche. You can then compile all of these stories and sell the book to your list. Of course, you will want to announce and congratulate the winner on your site. This is one good way to make money online by creating a niche product using ideas from your list.

4. Consider creating a niche service, rather than a niche product. Find one specific input that all business owners in a given niche require. Develop a consistent, reliable, high-quality, and reasonably-priced service for that specific input. Contact webmasters in that niche and alert them to your new service. Many business owners really appreciate a service that can make them more money online.

5. Before moving into a niche and concentrating resources to work on it, you will want to consider launching a smaller niche product first to test the market. Some niche forums, for instance, will allow business owners to sell products. You may want to see how the response is to your product before you then attempt to penetrate your niche further with a more expensive product. If you find out the response is good, you know that it is a good niche market.

And there you have it, 5 easy ways to make money online selling a niche product. I can guarantee that you will achieve the sweetness of success just by using one of these steps.

Consider Books When You Are Looking For an Affiliate Marketing Program

By Jordi Shoman

Books pay out good dividends when you consider this area for an affiliate marketing program. Large national bookstores, such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble have affiliate marketing programs that you can join free of charge. You do have to apply to the program and meet the requirements with a website and when you are accepted you will receive the instructions as to how you can get the proper HTML code for each book your want to refer your readers to buy.

The Internet is a wealth of information about all kinds of affiliate marketing programs, but the book selling programs represent a specialty niche for which there are many potential customers. If you are an avid reader, you can develop your passion for reading into a money-making venture simply by setting up a website. The only cost will be the web hosting, but you do have to invest time into making this venture work. One possible idea would be to offer free book reviews of best selling books. At the end of the review, you can have the code that will present a picture of the cover of the book and a link where your readers can order the book - new or used. Each book sold by a referral from your website earns you a commission.

Another potential idea for making money from a book affiliate marketing program relates to the field of education. Teachers spend a lot of time and money trying to find good teacher resources to help them with their planning needs and in helping them come up with exciting project ideas for the students. With articles about topics related to teaching and books that teachers can use, you will be able to earn money from your website.

This is not a get rich quick scheme and it will take time for you to build up to getting high ratings in the search engines. However, many people who stick with affiliate marketing are realizing a substantial second income.

Online Paid Survey

By Helen Peshkova

Basic Idea

Around the world, companies spend over $250 billion dollars a year trying to convince consumers to buy their products and services. And about $800 million dollars is devoted to market research. That’s why your opinions on goods and services are so important and as highly paid for.

Before launching a new product or service, companies are willing to pay for online paid surveys that enable them to improve their products or services prior to releasing them for sale.

Today more people have Internet access worldwide. That’s why online paid surveys have become a very fast and effective method to consumers is realized. And you have the opportunity to make money online by completing surveys for companies that need your opinion. Companies are paying billions dollars to market research firms to conduct online surveys. Then, those market research firms pay money to anyone that fills out their surveys online.

Understanding how people think and buy products and services helps companies improve their products and services and make more money. That’s why companies are willing to pay people good money for online paid surveys because you help them to increase their profits.

There are over 7,5 million companies worldwide that actually pay consumers.

Everyone can do surveys online and get paid. Paid surveys are the perfect opportunity for stay-at-home moms, students, and anyone who is looking for a home part-time job.

How does it work?

Companies that need a survey hire hundreds of market research companies. Then, the market research companies look for the participants to complete the online surveys. The participants are paid by the market researchers, in the form of a cheque or through Paypal. Then the market research companies analyze these data.

To gain the access to the market research companies you should subscribe to a Paid Survey Database. For a small, one-time subscription fee you are given an access to a comprehensive list of market research companies that will pay you for completing surveys online or participating in online focus groups.

Depending on your profile, you will qualify to complete different Online Paid Surveys for cash and other rewards. And you can select the time to complete the online paid surveys and which surveys you want to do.

You will get paid to give your opinion either in person, over the phone, or online. These require more effort on your part, but the cash payments are much higher.

You will get to participate in other kinds of studies including trying new products or watching movie trailers before they are launched.

To get started all you will need is Internet access and an email address. After registration you will get access to the information which provides the inventory of marketing companies that are looking for people like you to complete online paid surveys, participate in focus groups, review movie trailors, get paid to test new products and drive a car.

Advantage

Paid Online Survey is a very interesting and easy job. Everyone can do surveys online and get paid. You need only access to the Internet and an email address. You can select the time to complete the online paid surveys and which surveys you want to do yourself.

Disadvantage

You should pay for the most of the Paid Survey Database services. But this is a one-time subscription fee only and the most reputable companies offer a money-back guarantee. So you have zero financial risk.

My Advice

The chances are high that some companies will tend to send so much unwarranted email that it could be considered SPAM. You should to have a separate email account as you will get a LOT of new email.

But remember that if you use a spam filter you also will not receive most surveys. So your spam filter should be turned off.

You should join several of the free paid survey or rewarded surveys which you can find below. They are free to join and are reputable.

Sign up with one of the more reputable paid survey database agencies.

You might choose to pay for "Paid Survey Database services", but never pay to take a Paid Survey or be on their waiting list.

You should visit each Paid Survey Database Services site and read about how they work.

Be wary if Paid Survey Database Services are free. They will most likely spam you or are just out to get referral commissions. Those paid survey services are no good because they may sell your email, spam.

Most paid surveys companies offer a 90-day money back guarantee. This is good because it sometimes takes up to 60-90 days to start getting the good surveys.

Consider the survey companies that have higher-quality websites and charge a one-time fee. The list of them you can find below.

You need to carefully read each actual Paid Survey you sign up for. Sometimes they will auto-fill a checkbox that allows them to sell your email. Be sure to uncheck it.

My recommendation is to visit the most of the paid survey services and then determine the best of them to go with. Be sure to sign up with a few of the Highest Quality Paid Surveys programs around. These are very reputable organizations that want your input and reward you for it. RichTrack’s Top Paid Survey Sites will help you to find the best of them.

Paid Surveys - Is It Worth The Effort?

By Michael Russell

We have all seen the ads scattered over the internet trying to lure us into believing that we can make hundreds of dollars a month by simply filling out survey forms. What we need to ask ourselves is this: Is it possible and is it really worth the effort?

What we must first do is study the philosophy behind the entire concept of paid survey advertising. It is just that; company advertising through the use of a series of questions geared toward the exposure of products, with the sole intent of selling those particular products to the consumer. In return, these survey companies provide compensation, either by providing monetary compensation, sweepstakes entry, or offering a prize. This phenomenon is another marketing tool used by companies to further advertise their products to the public. Let's face it, more and more people are turning to their computers to shop for products they use everyday instead of commuting back and forth to shopping malls. It is much more economical for the consumer. With this in mind, companies will spend millions of dollars a year to compete for the consumer dollar and providing a small incentive to participate in a survey is just one of the tools used today.

So we are back to the original question: Is it worth the effort filling out these survey forms we are bombarded with? It will depend on several factors. How much time are you willing to spend participating in this activity? Are you willing to be patient? Which incentive provided is more important to you, monetary compensation, a sweepstakes prize, or a prize awarded instantly? Let's examine each of these questions in more detail.

How much time are you willing to spend doing this? If you just want to broaden your knowledge of various products and are not interested in making money, then, a few hours a week will be all that is needed. If, however, you are definitely interested in the compensation side of this, then many hours a week will be required. You must sign up with as many survey companies as possible in order for the reward to be worth the time spent.

Are you willing to be patient? Patience is the key here. If you participate fully in the surveys provided, the companies may take 30 days or longer for you to be compensated. Are you willing to wait that long?

Which incentive provided in the survey is more important to you? Many companies that provide monetary compensation only require a document of completion or verification. This is generally in the form of an email sent to your email address provided by you when you initially filled out the survey. Once that verification process has been completed, the company will generate a check or send funds to an online payment processor such as Paypal or Egold. In many cases, you are entered into a sweepstakes and, if you are the lucky winner, you will be notified by email or other means stipulated in the participation terms. If you are an instant prize winner, you may also be notified by an email or by phone.

To conclude this discussion, people who have a lot of extra time on their hands, an extreme amount of patience and a strong desire to succeed can make a good part time income from paid survey sites. It may not make you rich, but it may pay a couple of bills.

How to Make Money from Paid Surveys

Enzo Chiu
Paid surveys on the Internet are something that we have all heard about, but can you actually make any money with them? Most people delete the emails that they get for them and don’t bother to click on the links, but if you are looking to make a couple bucks in just a couple minutes of your time you’ll find that paid surveys are a great way to do it. There are literally hundreds of survey companies out there that need your help to get information about a variety of products and you can get paid anywhere from one dollar to as much as $100 depending on the length of the survey.

The best way to find these survey opportunities is to watch your email. Many times offers come into your email and you don’t pay any attention to them. You don’t necessarily have to open each email you get but if the email subject lists a survey opportunity you might want to take a peek at the email and see what the company is offering. You might get a sample survey and you can gauge if it is something that you are willing to do with your time. Each survey usually pays a nominal amount but it can be a fun way to earn five dollars and maybe even get a sample of a new product that is not yet on the market.

You can find survey opportunities by searching for them yourself. The more companies you sign up with, the more earning potential you will have. While some surveys may take just five minutes and you may only get a couple of dollars, when you couple them with the surveys that pay more you can potentially earn a couple hundred dollars a week. Some survey companies don’t have surveys available every day, or even every week, but when you sign up with several companies you will hopefully have a survey or two that you can complete every day.

Most of the time you will be required to complete a profile that will tell the company a little bit about you. You may be asked about your interests, your education, and the products you buy, and where you have lived. While you might want to check off only the things that you really like or really know about, you may want to broaden your interests for the sake of the surveys. The thing is, these companies use your profile to determine who they should send each survey to. If you have listed a broad range of interests and products that you buy regularly, you are sure to get more surveys than if you list a very narrow range of interests and products that are purchased.

While you can earn money doing online surveys, it’s important to realize that you won’t become a millionaire by doing this! Paid surveys alone likely will not pay your rent, but it may be enough to pay your bills associated with the Internet and may buy you a new pair of shoes every once in awhile. If you are involved with several paid survey companies you may earn a bit more, but generally this is thought to be fun money or a supplement to your current income. If you work online or you work from home, this is a great opportunity to make some extra cash and it won’t take you long to earn it. Paid surveys can be fun, interesting, and generally are worth your time, just don’t expect to become rich and famous as a result!

Paid Surveys - Tips On Taking Paid Surveys

By Michael Russell

If you're going to try to make a side income from taking paid surveys on the Internet, there are a few things that you're going to want to do in order to get the most out of your efforts. Otherwise, you're just going to end up spinning your wheels and not get anywhere. Trust me on this one. You definitely need a game plan when attacking those surveys.

The first thing you must understand is that you are never going to get rich from taking surveys. They just don't pay enough. You'd have to join more survey sites and take more surveys in a day than are physically possible to make anything even close to a living wage. So get that idea out of your mind right from the start. Paid surveys will give you a side income and that's about it.

The next thing you have to do when taking paid surveys is look for survey sites that pay in cash and cash only. You don't want to bother with sites that pay you in sweepstakes and discounts on products and services unless you're interested in those kind of things. If you're primarily looking to make an income from doing this, you don't want to bother with those sites. You can use sites that pay in points that you can trade in for cash but find out what the exchange rate is on those points. You don't want to waste your time on a survey site that pays only a few dollars for a ridiculous amount of points. You want your hourly pay to come out to at least $5 an hour. You're not going to get much more than that.

The next thing you want to do when taking paid surveys is be honest with your screening questions. These are questions that many sites will ask you before they actually give you a survey to take. The purpose of these screening questions is to find out if you're in the right demographic for the survey they're offering. While this may not seem important, it is. If the survey is targeting women who do most of the food shopping in the house, they don't want to give that survey to the man of the house. So don't lie on the screening question and say you're a woman. Besides, you won't know what the screening is for anyway before taking the survey so you wouldn't know what the "right" answers are anyway. Many people try to fool the system. In other words, they take guesses at what they're looking for. Trust me, this never works and you'll just be wasting your time.

The next thing you want to do when taking a paid survey is actually read all the questions and not just check off a single row. Not all the questions will fall into a certain answer range. If the survey company sees that you're doing this and believe me they'll find out, they will either remove you from the system or they'll stop sending you surveys altogether.

Like I said, you can make a few bucks taking surveys, but the key is to be honest. In the long run, if you're not, they'll find out and you'll lose any chance of making any income at all.

From Homemaker to Entrepreneur: All it Takes is Creativity, Determination, and Motivation

By Maria Romain

Are the high demands of family-life keeping you from going out into the workforce? Do you desire to stay home with your children, but want to earn a living as well? Are you creative, determined, and motivated? If you can answer “yes” to each of these questions, then you may able to relate to Michelle Anderson’s story about becoming a homemaker and an entrepreneur.

Michelle Anderson of Michigan is a 27 year old wife and mother. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their 4 children. Michelle decided to stop working to become a full-time homemaker after her second daughter was born. Although she enjoys spending time with her family, Mrs. Anderson felt the desire to go back to school. Her goal is to earn an early-childhood education degree.

In addition to taking night classes, Michelle became motivated with the idea of working from home. After giving much thought to how she could earn money from home, Mrs. Anderson prayed and asked God for the creativity and direction to do so. It was then that she took her passion for creativity and invested it into building her own candle business.

Michelle Anderson is the founder of Virtuous Light Gel Candles and is currently in the process of building the business. The company’s name was influenced by her belief in fulfilling her purpose as a virtuous woman of God as described in Proverbs 31. She believes that her first priority is to God and her family. In addition, she is determined to help bring financial relief to her household. Virtuous Light Gel Candles are designed for almost any occasion. Michelle’s goal is to create a major clientele in the wedding planning industry. For more information you can email your questions to virtuouslight06@yahoo.com.

More and more women are finding that working from home is a valuable alternative. There are many women like Michelle Anderson who desire to build a home-based business. Michelle’s story is unique in the fact that she is not trying to sell her idea, but she wants other mothers like her to know that they too can fulfill their dream of earning a living and staying home with their children. Hopefully, this article will encourage other woman who can relate to Michelle to take something that they love and turn it into a lucrative home-based business. All it takes is a little creativity, determination and motivation.

How To Work At Home Promoting Affiliate Programs

By Fiona Shearer-Hann

If you’ve been on the Internet any length of time, you’ve probably heard about affiliate programs. You may even have heard of the people who are making six or even seven figure incomes solely through the promotion of affiliate products. However, despite what some people may lead you to believe, making money with affiliate programs is not as simple as signing up for a program and then sitting back to watch as the money pours in. In fact, it’s anything but! The reality is, good money can be made through promoting affiliate products, but those who do make the good money have put in a great deal of hard work first.

If you are determined to go ahead and earn money through the promotion of affiliate products, then it’s a great idea to know where to start. Many people say that you don’t need a website to create an income through affiliate sales, but the best affiliates have websites of their own. If you think having a website is too expensive, think again. Most people who don’t have websites have to use paid advertising to make their sales (for example, through the Google Adwords program), which can add up to a lot of money very quickly. However, a website only need cost as much as a domain name and cheap hosting. To find out more about these, check out GoDaddy or iPowerweb (although there are many other domain name providers and hosting providers out there, if you’re willing to do a bit of research).

What if you know nothing about html or website design? What if you want to get started straight away and really don’t have the funds to get going? There is a completely free option to creating your own website without knowing anything at all about website creation, and that’s through the use of blogs. A simple blogger blog is free, easy to use, and you can get started immediately creating your own web presence. One of the best things about blogger blogs is that they also get spidered by the search engines quickly and regularly (especially Google, which owns blogger). If you don’t know what that means, that’s okay. It basically just means that your site is likely to get indexed by the search engines quickly, so people will be able to find your site when they do a search of the major search engines.

Okay, so you’ve got a website, and you want affiliate products to promote. You also want to know the best ways to promote these affiliate products so you actually induce people to buy the products you’re advertising! A good place to start is with Clickbank. It’s free to join, and you can promote any of their products. Of course, there are a lot of products to choose from! The best idea is to find a niche, or a topic you’re interested in, and create your site around it. Then look for products that fit into that particular niche. One of the best ways of promoting affiliate products is to do an honest review of the product you’re promoting. Of course, it helps if you own the product! Nevertheless, many people successfully promote products they don’t own. (And if you’re starting from scratch and don’t have the money to purchase multiple products then you’re probably going to have to wing it a little).

All Clickbank products have their own website page (the one any potential purchaser will be taken to when they click on your affiliate link). If you want to write a review of the product, that sales page is an excellent page to start. Most sellers do a pretty good job of promoting their products (if they’re at all successful) and you can use the benefits they’ve highlighted in their sales pitch to write your review around.

There’s a lot more to becoming a success as an affiliate marketer than the simple steps I've just outlined, but once you know where to begin, you can start pretty much straight away. Once you want more information, there are tons of books and resources online (many of which are free) which will help you in your quest to know more and become more successful.

One final thought: it’s all good and well to plan what it is you want to do, but if you don’t actually start implementing what you do know, you’ll never get anywhere. You can start affiliate marketing for free with a blog and a clickbank account, and many people have started on the road to success with just those tools; however, many more have half-heartedly made an attempt at affiliate marketing, but have quit almost straight away through lack of results. If you truly want to succeed, you need to be willing to put forth the time and the effort, and when that’s done, nothing will stop you!

Computer Work at Home

By Tony Newton ... Get a New Desktop PC

It is interesting to find that over 50 million people now have access to the Internet, even now when it is still for all intents and purposes in its infancy stage. Among these 50 million or so people, more than half use their computers to set up a work at home business online. So combine this huge and expanding audience with the fact that marketing and advertising using your Internet-connected computer can save you on costs, and you have yourself an online situation that’s just ripe for success.

Here is a guide to help you successfully flow in cash from the computer work at home boom:

Decide what you are going to sell.

Setting up a work at home business, even one that is set with only a computer and an Internet connection, is a never-ending process of making decisions and counter decisions. When dealing with work at home computer business opportunities, you will most likely come across two basic areas: Products and Services.

When it comes to products, you have the choice of either carrying out the whole operation, including handling orders, stocking, and shipping the goods, and processing the payments. Or, you may simply market for a company that will handle the administration of the work at home computer business for you. Your work at home computer job therefore is to get the orders to the company and then receive commissions for your effort.

Besides products, you can also work it so that what you’re offering in your work at home computer business is services. One of the advantages of selling services instead of products is that you can often generate a ‘residual’ commission, that is, a monthly income all the while that the customer continues to use your service.

Advertise your product or service.

A good rule of thumb when advertising your work at home computer business on the Internet is to keep your classified ads short. This can generally leave your reader in a state of enticement, which can generate curiosity about your work at home computer business. Curiosity, in turn, can lead potential costumers to ask questions or ask for more detailed information about the products or services that you offer. A good ad therefore is not trying to sell the product. What it does instead is get people interested in what you have to offer them.

Get their attention.

Let’s face it. The work at home computer scheme isn’t exactly new. Sure it’s gaining new attention but it’s not exactly new. So how do you make your ad compete with dozes of others out there? The key is to create a winning headline. Use keywords that are sure to attract readers, such as Free, How, You, Money, and Secret.

Avoiding Work From Home Scams

By Fiona Shearer-Hann

There are plenty of great work at home businesses out there, but far too many people starting out in Internet business or work from home business find themselves getting caught out by scams, and losing money. Unfortunately there are a lot of so called work at home businesses which are out there looking only to rip off honest people who want nothing more than to be able to support themselves from home. Unfortunately, while the Internet is a great resource for learning more about work at home opportunities, it also provides a very easy platform for frauds and scamsters.

The most important thing to do before investing in any work from home business is some good, solid research. There are numerous sites on the Internet that provide information about well known scams, and if you can’t find anything about a particular business opportunity, there are also excellent forums you can ask about it in.

There are many websites that host discussion groups and forums about scams, and also have articles from victims of work at home scams. Sometimes reading about what someone else has gone through can be a big help in knowing what to look out for in the way of home business opportunities.

What if you have already become the victim of a work at home scam? Fortunately, there are places you can turn to, and there are many people willing to give solid advice to help you get your money back, or to give you advice about where to go from here.

Start by visiting fraud.org, which is the official site for the national Fraud Information Center. They have listings of work at home scams, both online and offline ones. They may also assist you if you have been scammed. Another site is bbb.org, which is the official website of the Better Business Bureau. They specialize in helping victims of work at home scams. Scambusters.org is another excellent resource for victims of scams, particularly Internet scams. Finally, there’s worldwidescam.com, which publishes articles about work at home scams. You’ll also find many more resources about work from home scams through a quick Google search.

Remember, if you have been scammed there are often people out there who will help you get your money refunded, and if the company refuses to cooperate, there are sometimes other ways you can deal with the problem (including credit card chargebacks, if you paid via credit card). If, on the other hand, you are fortunate enough never to have fallen prey to a scammer, then you can still protect yourself by doing research before buying into any online or offline business opportunity. When armed with the right information you know what to look for, so you can be rest assured that when you do shell out hard earned money, you’ll get something in return.

Start A Home Bookkeeping Business

By Chris Navi

There has been an explosion of small businesses running from home thanks to the Internet revolution. Layoffs and job insecurity in the global market have made it very attractive for millions of people to start their own businesses. In the beginning, they will most likely take care of all their bookkeeping in order to keep costs down. But as these companies grow, the option of outsourcing their bookkeeping function to others becomes very attractive as it allows the business owner to concentrate on growing the business as opposed to just maintaining it. For people with bookkeeping experience, there is a growing demand for those services and that is why opening your own bookkeeping business is a great idea right now.

Essential Equipment

So what will you need to strike out on your own with your own bookkeeping business? Basically, you will need to set up an office. A computer, printer, fax machine, adding machine, and cell phone will all be necessary plus a high-speed Internet connection. In addition, you will obviously need some bookkeeping software. It is definitely recommended that you get a high-end bookkeeping platform so that you can offer clients as many options as possible with respect to the services you can provide. Even if you have to get some office furniture, you should be able to open your own bookkeeping business for $5,000 or less.

Skills & Experience

Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience is not a plus, it is vital. Financial records are very sensitive and vital materials and you will no doubt be asked to sign documentation asserting that your work is accurate and reliable. It is a mistake to think that because you can use Quickbooks proficiently that you are a bookkeeper and this will most likely get you into legal problems down the road should you make a mistake with someone's financial records. I would recommend no less than 3-5 years of solid bookkeeping / accounting experience before thinking about opening up your own bookkeeping business. Plus, the more experience you have to offer a client, the more successful you will be in finding new clients that will want to use your services. Marketing and sales experience or training will also be necessary if you are to be successful marketing your business.

Charges & Earnings

You can probably expect to make $30-40,000 in your first full year of operation but this will clearly depend on your success with marketing and in building your client list. At first, you may only be able to command $15-20 per hour for your services, but as your reputation grows, so too does your hourly rate. When you grow large enough to hire on another bookkeeper, that is when the profits start to really increase.

Marketing

As I said in the introduction, the explosion in businesses operating from home is probably your biggest target market and therefore the people you want to concentrate your advertising efforts on. As most of these businesses operate in some capacity from the Internet, that is where you will want to focus the marketing of your business. A website is a great marketing tool but you will need to have a lot of relevant content to bookkeeping if you want to do well with the search engines and thus direct potential clients to your site. You may need to hire a writer to develop your content so that it is keyword optimized and thus search engine friendly. It may also be a good idea to hire a website designer to create a killer site that will get the clients to your door. But, by concentrating on the small business owners working from their homes and by offering reliable services, there is no reason why your own home-based bookkeeping business will not be a success!

Wholesale Distribution: Make Money With The Best Business In The World!

By: Jorge Olson

The business of wholesale distributing is one of the oldest and most profitable businesses in history. One of the reasons is because you don’t need to be there all the time to make money; you have lots of other businesses selling the items for you. These businesses are your customers. People that buy from you to resell the products and make money themselves. They can be wholesalers themselves or they can be retailers. Either way, it’s a way to multiply your sales.

Did you ever wanted to start a business? Chances are that any business will have something to do to with the “wholesale business”. Most businesses have to buy goods at wholesale or have to buy supplies at wholesale prices. If you have a restaurant you don’t go to the market to buy food at retail prices, you have a wholesale distributor called “foodservice distributor” deliver your products. If you have any time of retail store or business you need wholesale suppliers. Even if you provide a service like a doctor or a hair stylist chances are you are buying supplies at wholesale prices. Wholesalers are everywhere and they are involved with almost every business in the world.

------The best thing about this business is that you can make sales when you are not there. Once you get a few stores as customers you will see how they will sell your products over and over again while you are at home, on vacation, with friends and family. You deliver them, they sell them!------

Multiplying your sales is probably one of the most important factors in wholesale distribution. It’s what makes this business interesting. It’s not just you working and making money on an hourly basis, you have many people working many hours to make money and in turn make you money. When you are a good distributor with a good product and good service, people will come to you. They will find you and they will keep buying from you. Why? Because that’s their business, that’s how they make their money. You would do the same thing. If you have a supplier with fast selling products you’ll keep buying from the supplier because you keep moving the merchandise. This is why even very small one man operations can make money in this business. Even if they sell what everyone else is selling. Even if they are more expensive. Why, because they are there. They have good service and if you are a retailer you know that you need products to sell products. If your shelves are empty because your supplier is not there, you are loosing money. It does not matter if your supplier has the best price, if he does not have good service you won’t have a long relationship with them.

In the next few chapters you will learn the different types of distribution business out there, the types of products and services you can sell, and how much you can make with each one.

When you are reading the types of wholesale businesses try and see yourself doing each of these tasks or running each of those businesses. If you like a particular business, highlight it and do some research on it. There are many things you can do in wholesale and distribution depending on your personality, your cash situation and your goals.

The Home Based Internet Business And Freedom

By Donovan Baldwin

Ask most people why they want to start a home business, or these days a home based internet business, and they will "round up the usual suspects" as Claude Raines said in Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart.

They will talk about making money, firing the boss, spending more time with the kids, improved quality of life; the chance to travel...the list goes on. If you look carefully at the list, however, one common theme underlies all the specific items on the list.

When people start a home business or home based internet business, they are really looking for one thing...FREEDOM!

That's what it comes down to, right? No more boss telling YOU what to do. No alarm clock waking YOU up so you can get to the dead-end job that doesn't pay enough to let YOU do what YOU want to do. No more telling the kids that they can't go to Disneyland because there's not enough money, or not being able to go to Johnny's ballgame, or the piano recital, or the class play because you've got to be at work.

Many people think it's about the money, but if you got honest answers from people, you would find that many would be willing to make the same as what their job pays right now if they could just ditch the boss, the alarm clock, the coat and tie, the shoes that pinch, the griping customers, and the fear of being...ahem...downsized.

That is great! I do this, and I can confirm that having FREEDOM is fantastic. As I was sitting down at home to write this when I "got to work" at 10 AM on a Monday morning (in lay-around-the-house clothes), the phone rang. It was my daughter. She had a dead battery and a new (preemie) baby on the north side of Dallas and was one step shy of hysterical. Before she was finished telling her mom the whole problem, I was throwing the jumper cables and my tool bag in the Prius and getting ready to head out. No boss to ask, you see. No real potential loss of income because I can always do this tomorrow. I was already thinking about a restaurant where I wanted to eat lunch near where she was at.

Now, in a strange way, that's freedom. Do what I want (or need) to do on my schedule without having to ask permission or worry about what will happen to the paycheck if I leave work early today...and maybe take tomorrow off completely.

Unfortunately, many people who sign up for an internet business or home business only see that part of it. Sadly, many of the people who sign them up just talk about that side of it, and all the money they can make.

Yes, the freedom IS nice. It is real. I revel in it, but let me lay a couple of facts on you as well.

If you start a home based business, whether it is a home based internet business or a conventional one, or a hybrid the chances of success or failure are the same as with any store that opened its doors downtown today. The causes of success or failure will be the same as those of the barber shop, computer repair shop, hardware store, or grocery that opened today.

The Small Business Administration outlines many of those causes on their web site at http://sba.gov/ and it behooves the beginning entrepreneur to take a look. In fact, they presently have a page that tells it like it is for anyone beginning a new business venture whether it is a brick and mortar storefront business, a traditional home based business, or a home based internet business. Currently, this page is located at http://sba.gov/starting_business/startup/areyouready.html but this article may be reprinted many times over the coming years, so if you cannot find the article through this link, just look around the Small Business Administration site. I guarantee you will find a wealth of information, including the causes of small business failure and tools for small business success.

An overview of all this information is that success is dependent on preparation, and a sustained effort on the part of the entrepreneur.

Yes, I had the freedom to leap out the door to help my daughter without asking permission, but at some point, I would have to sit down and write this article, clean up a website, network with a potential customer or business owner, study the news and read message boards. In other words, I would have to work in order to make MY business a success. I would have to do all the things my BOSS would have asked me to do, but now I have to do them for myself. I AM THE BOSS!

And the janitor, and the sales manager, and the receptionist, and.....

What the heck! I can pack up my computer and go down to the coast next week. Oh yeah. I've got freedom, but I have a business to think of too. Let's see. I'll need a motel with a view of the ocean and in-room high-speed internet. They have to accept pets. Don't forget to contact some people down there and make this a business trip....

How to Start a Pet Supplies and Accessories Business

By Alice Stacy

Pets are a part of 63% of American households, which is over 69 million homes. And 45% of those homes have more than one pet. Approximately 37 million homes own a cat, and 43 million own a dog. All of this means that the market for pet supplies is guaranteed to be steady, and in fact, has grown by $2-$3 billion dollars annually, since 2002 with an estimated expenditure for 2006, to reach $38.4 billion dollars.

Could this be the time to start a pet supplies and accessories business? If you go about it the right way, and invest time and thought in your approach, you are more likely to outlast the five year "new" period that sees so many businesses close.

What is your business going to sell? That is entirely up to you. There is a growing market for a variety of pets, with dogs and cats leading the way. In both areas, toys, and gourmet treats are hot commodities, as are designer duds for the family pooch.

You can start a business entirely from your own resources, making the treats yourself, with a custom-designed package, and spreading word locally through free samples, and appearances at pet-related events such as dog and cat shows, or pet expos. A well-designed website is also an excellent idea. People get visuals of what you are selling, and the easier it is negotiated, and the more information you provide them about your products, the more likely they are to return, and to refer you to their friends.

To get you started, you might instead decide to go with an established company that offers commissions and bonuses on sales that you make at home parties or though a website. The advantages are less overhead, not having to carry stock, and not doing the shipping. What tips the balance, can be how much independence you want with your business.

Get Creative With Child Care While Working From Home

By: Kristie Tamsevicius

Balancing Your Act

As an entrepreneurial parent, you juggle the roles of head chef, chauffer, nurse, janitor and more. Being there for your kids may be the very reason you have a home-based business, yet this myriad of roles makes carving time out for your business challenging at best. By developing a wide variety of cost-effective childcare options, you can achieve a balance between spending time with your children and building your business.

There are times when working at home while watching the kids goes without a hitch. They’re playing a game in the other room, doing their homework at the kitchen table, or gabbing with their friends while you’re making your calls, filing your paperwork, and crossing items off of your to do list with efficiency. There are other times, though, when parenting and working requires a superhuman ability to focus. Once, as I was doing a phone interview with the local media, the Pokémon theme was blaring on the TV, a toy was singing, “If you are happy and you know it, clap your hands,” and my son came over saying, “Mommy, Mommy, Mommmmmeee….” The reporter was amazed that I could concentrate on writing an article for my newsletter with such distractions. The key is honing the ability to let go of the distracting voices while still listening for cues that your children really need help.

Bringing in the Relief Pitcher

No matter how well you multitask, there are occasions when you need undisturbed time to devote to your business. Here are some ideas for getting the relief you need:

Hire a sitter to come to your home. In the summertime, you can find local high school and college kids who will keep the children entertained for a few hours rather inexpensively. Otherwise, you can ask friends, neighbors, and customers to recommend sitters who are willing to do daycare in your home.

Swap babysitting and working time with another mom. If you have a friend who also has her own home-based business, you can trade work and sitting times. For example, if you work in the morning, she can watch your kids. In the afternoon, she can work while you take over the childcare duties.

Set up a childcare co-op. Arrange with two other moms in your neighborhood or on your team to take all three kids for one afternoon. By taking turns watching the brood, the kids will form lasting friendships while each mom gets two afternoons per week to work on her business–kid-free!

Work swing shifts with your husband. You can watch the kids while your husband works, and then he can take over while you work the next shift. The disadvantage to this approach is that you don’t get a lot of quality time to spend with your husband.

Work around the kids’ schedules. You can get chunks of work done while the kids are in school, or in the early morning or at night when the kids are sleeping. If you have a baby or toddler, you can work while they are taking naps.

Ask your family for help. Going to grandma’s house can be an adventure. If you have extended family, they may be willing to watch the kids while you work.

Enroll your kids in a class. Most local parks and recreation districts offer dozens of inexpensive classes for children of all ages. Go through the course catalog together with your children, and have them pick out the classes that most interest them.

Park your kids at the pool. Invest in a summer pass for your local public pool and take advantage of the recreational swim hours. As long as your kids can swim, most public pools allow school-age children to swim without a parent being present. You can get two to three hours a day of uninterrupted work while your kids are splashing in the sun.

Sign your kids up for day camp. Many parks and recreation districts offer inexpensive day camps. When they’re not in school, consider signing your kids up for day camp one or two days each week. They’ll have fun and you’ll have peace of mind.

Assessing Your Options

Realistically assess how well you’re juggling your many roles, and whether some form of childcare would help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

Determine how many hours each week you’d like help with the kids, and choose one or more strategies from the above list.
Do the research or make the calls to get the help you need.

The Latest Home Business Trend is 150 Years Old

(NewsUSA) - One of the hottest new ideas for a home-based business got its start in the Civil War era. By the 1860s, sewing machines had become affordable for the average family, and because these machines reduced the time it took to sew a garment by up to 80 percent, enterprising women had time to sew for extra money.

A century and a half later many women, and men too, are earning a living with home sewing. The Small Business Administration estimates that as many as 14 million Americans make their living from home. Sewing has a proven track record as a home-based business in dozens of niches, including upholstery, bridal wear, crafts and quilts.

Sewing machine manufacturers have responded by producing "prosumer" models, such as the Janome Professional Series, with professional performance but consumer-friendly ease-of-use, making it possible for even more entrepreneurs to start home-based sewing and craft businesses. In a world of mass-produced products, shoppers value custom-made items, and many are willing to pay a premium for them.

Dianna Grundhauser ran her own quilting store on Maui, Hawaii. After five years, she decided the long hours necessary to run a retail location weren't worth it and began running the quilt-making portion of her business out of her home.

"To do the kind of work I do, I needed an industrial machine. But I didn't have the room," said Grundhauser.

She purchased a Janome 1600 Professional, a high-speed, straight stitch machine with the performance characteristics of an industrial model - speed, power and durability - and the size and convenience features of a home machine. Grundhauser now has a successful home business and sells her quilts online, which helps keep overhead costs low.

But home sewing businesses don't always stay small. Scott Jones didn't even know how to sew when he decided to make a custom-fit fleece jacket for himself as a college junior. His company, Beyond Fleece, now sells to serious outdoor enthusiasts around the world.

In addition to the 1600P, Janome's Professional Series includes the 6600P full-featured sewing machine and the CoverPro coverstitch machines.

How A Single Mom In Pennsylvania Makes A Living Selling Bookmarks Online

By John Deprice

Diane Waltman story

My business is designing and laminating bookmarks for wedding favors, business promotions, nonprofit organizations, holidays and other special occasions or projects. I design them on my computer, depending on what the customer wants. Then I print and laminate them.

I came up with the idea of a bookmark business because it was a fun way to express my creativity and would require a low investment. Extensive foot surgery forced me to quit my office job a few years ago, and my doctors told me I would be out of work for more than three years. I knew I had to do something while recuperating, so I decided to look into an online business. I researched my competition and found only one Website selling handmade bookmarks.

Within a week, in March 1999, I had started a business. After I researched my idea on the Web, I went to a local business supply company and bought most of my supplies -- a laminating machine, sheets of laminate and paper, ink and special software. Then I got going on my Website. I also checked my state regulations to see what forms I needed to file to make my business legal.

I researched Web design and learned how to build my own site, found a Web host and lined up a merchant account so I could accept credit cards. Then I was ready to market my online business -- probably the most important step.

I began by targeting some likely markets. I knew that my bookmarks would make great wedding favors, so I contacted bridal Websites and had a few list my business in exchange for a free ad in my weekly newsletter or a free link on my Website. I also advertised online in the classifieds and in newsletters from other sites and registered with the search engines. Search engine placement is very important. Offline, I designed fliers to post in local bridal shops. Most of my marketing efforts were free.
